Boakye earns debut Ghana call-up for China friendly

New Juventus signing Richmond Boakye-Yiadom has earned a debut Ghana call-up for next month's friendly against China, MTNFootball.com can confirm.

The 18-year-old has been on the radar of the technical handlers after scoring a total of 12 goals in all competitions for Serie B side Sassuolo last season on loan from Genoa.

Boakye-Yiadom announced his readiness to play top-tier football after scoring for Juventus in their 7-1 win over local outfit Aygreville on pre-season.

He gained global attention when he scored on his Italian Serie A debut for Genoa two years ago as a second half substitute.

The former Ghana Under-20 striker will be one of the few faces to be observed by Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah ahead of September's 2013 African Nations Cup qualifier against Malawi.

Boakye moved to Italy in 2009 from Bechem United after he was discovered playing in a tournament in Vicenza.
