Boateng on Charlton radar

Fulham midfielder Derek Boateng is back on the agenda at Charlton Athletic as the Ghana international fights to get playing time to make the World Cup squad.

Charlton are back on the radar for the powerful midfielder following the sacking of coach Chris Powell.

The Daily Mail says Boateng has been on Charlton’s radar for a number of weeks, but sacked manager Chris Powell decided against signing Boateng.

But with Powell departed, a loan move for the Ghanaian is back on the cards at The Valley.

Boateng was signed by Fulham at the start of the season but has struggled for playing time at the club.

His lack of playing time cost him his place in the Black Stars squad but with the World Cup approaching, Boateng is seeking to play to attract the attention of Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah.
