THE fourth boxing championship in Zone III of the Supreme Council of Sports in Africa (SCSA) has wound up in Lome, with Burkina Faso and Ghana each winning four gold medals, and hosts, Togo, one.
Benin’s Adjaho beat Kafando Ousseni of Burkina Faso on points in the light flyweight category.
In the bantamweights, Ghana’s Lanquaye Wilson beat Abdou Aziz Compaore of Burkina Faso, while King Abbey, also from Ghana, beat Burkina Faso’s Sand Seibou in the featherweight category.
In the lightweights, Togo’s Sarouna Mamadou beat Burkinabe Issa Ouedraogo on points, and Savouna Fatiou, another Togolese beat Ghanaian Kpakpo Allotey in the light welterweights.
In the light middleweights, Ghana’s Issa Akrong beat Burkina Faso’s Sou Toke, and the Burkinabe Idrissa Kabore had a walkover against Benin’s Kpadenou Victor in the welterweights.
Ghanaian Charles Quartey beat Jules Kabore of Burkina Faso in the heavyweight category.
