Brazil 2014: Pressure on Germany and Portugal - Ayew

Black Stars Winger Andre Dede Ayew says pressure will be on European giants Germany and Portugal to progress at the World Cup in Brazil.

Ghana who will be making their third appearance at the Mundial are in the same group with Germany and Portugal who the pundits have tipped to progress to the knockout phase of the Competition.

The Black Stars have made a huge success at the event, making it to the knockout phase in 2006, and reaching the quarter finals in 2010, in South Africa.

The Olympique Marseille Player will be making his second World Cup appearance in Brazil and says the pressure will be on their opponents Germany and Portugal to prove their worth at the World Stage.

“For me I think we will go there very determined and will fight hard to progress but to be honest with you with all the statistics, the pressure will be on Germany and Portugal.

“For USA, it won’t be easy though but we are far ahead of them in terms of statistics, but we will work hard to make it to the next phase” Dede told Asempa FM.

“We can be tagged as underdogs, but I know with the help from the FA President, Kwesi Appiah, the Ghana Black Stars will make history in Brazil and the years ahead.”

Ghana will open their World Cup campaign against the United States before playing Germany and Portugal.
