Italy based former Ghana youth international, Bright Addae has inked his name into the history of books of Serie B side Ascoli Picchio F.C. after becoming the first African to captain the team in over 100 years.
The former Wa All Stars FC utility midfielder settled at the Serie B side after the 2009 Under 20 FIFA World Cup heroics and has been entrusted with the captain’s armband.
The Ghanaian import showed his leadership qualities whiles with the Serie B side to earn the trust of the entire technical team and the club’s management.
His position as the captain of the club makes him the first African to have been handed the armband since the inception of Ascoli in 1898.
Manager, Serse Cosmi, entrusted Bright Addae as the new skipper of the side after the exploits of the former Wa All Stars FC utility player in the past seasons.
Ascoli Picchio maintained their status as a Serie B side with a 0-0 aggregate in the relegation playoffs against Virtus Entella.
