Sports minister, Edwin Nii Lante Vanderpuije, has told the people of Sunyani his outfit will put up an ultra modern stadium in the region anytime soon.
The minister made the disclosure on Tuesday during a regional tour to assess some facilities under the ministry after the chiefs had released over 100-acre to government for the project.
Vanderpuije believes it is necessary to put up a stadium in Sunyani to help budding talents.
“We are giving the Brong Ahafo region an opportunity to once again assert itself as a leading sports region in the country.
"So we are here to see for ourselves and the chiefs have been magnanimous enough to take the first step of proposing land for our consideration to be used and developed for multi-purpose sporting facility”, he told Starr Sports.
The region currently dominates with the highest number of premier league teams in the country namely: Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, Aduana Stars and Techiman City.
