Bukom Banku, Olagbade bout postponed; promoter offers explanation

Prince Stanley Williams, the Chief Executive Officer of Monarch Events and Promotion has provided reasons for the postponement of the much-anticipated bout between Bukom Banku and Nigeria’s Sule Olagbade.

The two boxers were expected to fight in the second edition of ‘King of the Ring’ night on Saturday, December 21 at the Bukom Arena but the fight did not come on as announced.

The situation has left fans of the two boxers disappointed and angry as they were anxious to see their stars slug it out in the ring.

But the fears of these teeming fans has been calmed by Prince Stanley who is assuring boxing lovers of a better organized and world-class fight next year.

Revealing the cause of the postponement in an interview with Atinka TV, Prince Stanley said that his outfit has set a high standard for itself when it comes to organizing events and were not ready to soil that reputation.

He said that efforts were going to be put in to ensure that a flawless and competitive fight is delivered to Ghanaian boxing fans next year.

He also confirmed that the bout will be staged next year at the same venue.

“Our brand, we believe in quality and quantity so if you watch our previous shows, you’ll see what we’ve been able to do. We want to get better each time we do another event. This bout we postponed to April 11 to ensure that we have better and more quality event”.

“We also want to choose quality opposition. We are in Ghana and want to do a show because it is another destination that needs to be boosted. We don’t believe in doing boxing at one place. As a matter of fact, our company is based in America so we are only extending our wing to Africa.
