Businessman cautions media against hyping Sunday's match

Kumasi, Jan 8, GNA - A Kumasi-based businessman has cautioned FM stations in the country especially those in Kumasi against inflaming passions on Sunday's CAF Confederation Cup second leg final match between Kumasi Asante Kotoko and Accra Hearts of Oak at the Kumasi Sports stadium.

Mr James Addo Amponsah, alias "Marvin-Marvin" who gave the caution said inflaming passions before and after the match could lead to dangerous consequences and said such a situation should be avoided. Speaking to the GNA Sports in Kumasi on Friday, he urged managements of the two clubs to educate their supporters on the need to put up their best behaviours on Sunday to ensure an incident-free game. Mr Amponsah also called on fans of both clubs to accept the final result and also asked the winners to celebrate their victory in such a manner so as not to incite violence.

He reiterated that since Ghana would host the 2008 African Cup of Nations tournament, it was imperative on supporters of both clubs to exhibit the best of behaviour since the top hierarchy of CAF and FIFA would watch Sunday's game.

"The impression that they carry about our behaviour will go a long way to either give the country a good name or a bad name and therefore asked fans to bear this in mind", he added.
