C.K Akonnor should make the decision on Boateng's return - Laryea Kingston

Kevin still dreams of a Ghana return Kevin still dreams of a Ghana return

Former Ghana international Laryea Kingston believes the decision for Kevin Prince Boateng's return to the Black Stars should be left to coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor.

Botaeng recently stated in an Instagram Live interview with his brother Jerome that he is not done with the national team yet, despite the acrimonious way in which his last stint with Ghana ended in Brazil 2014.

“With the national team, I didn’t like the way it ended because they gave me so much. But you never know, maybe I can go back and play one more time again,” said the Besiktas star.

Meanwhile, Kingston who played for the Black Stars between 2002 to 2010 insists Boateng's return can only be determined by C.K Akonnor, and wants the decision made based on the player's performance.

“Kevin-Prince Boateng is still a Ghanaian. He still has a lot of respect for his country despite the issues that happened in the Black Stars,” he said.

“I think if the coach believes that Boateng has something to help him and he is performing then [he can call him]. What I want to see is players picked if they are doing well for their clubs.”
