C.K Akunnor credit technical team for good form in Special Competition

Kumasi Asante Kotoko trainer, Charles Kwablah Akonnor has disclosed the secret seeing his outfit having a good run in the ongoing Normalization Committee special competition.

According to the 45-year-old gaffer, his outfit impressive performance in the ongoing Ghana Football Association (GFA) Normalization Committee (NC) Special Competition is as a result of the hard work put together by his technical team each and every game.

The Reds having exited from the 2019 CAF Confederation cup, have improved very well in the ongoing special competition. The Porcupine Warriors after the first round of the special cup, has won 4 matches and lost one of the 6 games played so far in the competition and are top of the Premier A table having accumulated 13 points.

The former Dreams FC and Ashanti Gold SC trainer, after playing Berekum Chelsea in midweek to end the first round, indicated that the team has been doing well though they have missed the likes of Sogne Yacouba, Richard Senanu, Kwame Bonsu and Maxwell Baako due to injury but because of his able technical team its being good.

“The technical team Joe Baah, Akakpo and the rest, We have been able to mobilize ourselves also to talk to the players to understand where we are. It got to a time myself I had to talk to them as a group”.

“For us to see them perform like that is a credit to all of us and am happy it's going this way and we want to continue”, Coach Akonnor said.

Kotoko will open their second-round campaign on Sunday when they visit Berekum Chelsea on Sunday, April 24, 2019.
