Chief Executive Officer for Asante Kotoko George Amoako has his side’s 1-0 defeat to Al Hilal on lack of concentration, insisting it wasn’t a cheap goal.
The Porcupine Warriors were handed their first defeat in the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cup against Al Hilal in Sudan.
Waleed Bakhiek Hamid swiftly slotted home a perfect finish five minutes to the break when the Kotoko center backs were caught ball watching.
And the experienced football administrator has blamed the defeat on the lack of concentration by the two center backs.
“It wasn’t a cheap goal. We lost concentration that resulted in their goal.
“We will learn from it and correct our mistake,” he told the media after the game.
“We played against an experienced side with a solid defence.
“If you look at their goal, no one saw it coming. We lost Concentration and they took advantage of it.
“I know the coach and the players will learn from that,” he added.
Asante Kotoko will host ZESCO United in their second group game on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
