Ghana Premier League champions, FC Samartex, are through to the second round of the preliminary stage of the CAF Champions League.

This follows a 2-0 aggregate victory over Victoria United from Cameroon in the first round.

The Ghanaian side went to Cameroon last weekend and secured a narrow 1-0 win over Victoria United in the first leg of the tie.

Today, FC Samartex hosted Victoria United in the second leg of the tie in a game played at the Accra Sports Stadium.

In a game of many chances, only one ball ended in the back of the net.

A solitary strike from Isaac Afful in the 8th minute of the first half helped FC Samartex beat the opponent 1-0.

The win sees FC Samartex advancing to the second round of the playoffs to the group stage of the CAF Champions League with an aggregate score of 2-0.

The Ghanaian champions will now face Raja Casablanca in the next round of the playoffs.
