Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex 1996 will face Cameroonian side Victoria United in the preliminary round of the 2024/25 CAF Champions League.

The draw for the 2024/25 CAF Champions League was held at the CAF headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, on Thursday, July 11, 2024.

Samartex will travel to Cameroon for the first leg of the match, scheduled for the weekend of August 16-18. The return leg will take place at the Accra Sports Stadium, which Samartex has adopted as their home ground.

The winner of this tie will advance to the second round, where they will face either ASGNN of Niger or Moroccan giants Raja Club Athletic in September.

The 2024/25 CAF Champions League marks Samartex's debut in an international tournament, following their historic win of the Ghana Premier League title. Victoria United also claimed their first-ever Cameroonian Elite One title last season.

Samartex aims to emulate Medeama SC, who reached the group stage of the 2023/24 CAF Champions League.
