Medeama SC started their Confederation Cup Group stage campaign on a jerky note as they lost 3-1 to TP Mazembe in DR Congo on Sunday afternoon.
The Ghanaian side took the lead through midfielder Malik Akowuah in the 3rd minute of the game.
Mazembe, after Medeama’s goal, piled pressure on the Ghanaians as they drew level after 20 minutes with a fine goal from Zambian international Kalaba.
The Lubumbashi side took the lead through Salif Coulibally after he headed home on the stroke of half-time.
Medeama goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe made lots of saves which prevented Mazembe from getting more in before half time.
The former CAF Champions League winners started the second half very well as Kalaba scored his second of the day to make it 3-1 for Mazembe
Ghanaian duo of Solomon Asante and Daniel Nii Adjei were in superb form as they played key roles in the Ravens commanding win.
