Asante Kotoko coach Charles Akunnor is counting on the experience of Daniel Nii Adjei and Jordan Opoku to make an impact in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The 24-time Ghanaian champions touched down in Nairobi on Wednesday and are set to confront Kenya’s FKF SportPesa shield winners in the first leg clash of the CAF Confederation Cup at the Kasarani MISC Stadium on Saturday.
Despite being touted as underdogs by several pundits ahead of the match, the Porcupine Warriors will be aiming to return home with a positive result ahead of the second leg.
And coach C.K Akunnor believes their target in the competition will be possible if players like Opoku and Nii Adjei, who is a one-time winner of the competition with Congolese giants TP Mazembe, can bring their experience on the table.
"I spoke to Nii Adjei and Jordan Opoku and made them understand how the young ones will ride on their backs to excel in this competition because of their rich experience and they are aware of what to do because the likes of Evans Owusu and co. have a lot to learn from them," Akunnor told Oyerepa FM.
