Accra, May 3, GNA-This year's CAL Bank Limited Open Golf Championship would be played, for the first time, at the Kumasi Golf Course from Saturday, May seven to Sunday, May eight.
Mr Earl Ofori-Atta, Captain of the Kumasi Golf Club, who announced this in Accra on Monday said the two-day 36-Hole Individual Stroke Play, open to amateur and professional golfers throughout the country is expected to attract over 100 participants.
He said entry qualification for the event, which shall be played under the rules of the Royal St. Andrew Golf Club of Scotland and the local rules of the Kumasi Golf Club, has handicap 18 for the Men and Handicap 27 for the Ladies.
Among an array of golfers expected to be seen include Mike Ezan, Vice President, Kwame Saarah-Mensah, captain both of the Achimota Golf Club and John Cobbina of the Tema Country Golf Club. The professionals will engage in a hectic three-day 54-Hole event starting from Friday, May six.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene is the special guest of honour.
