CAL Bank Golf on Aug. 26

Accra, Aug. 21, GNA - This year's CAL Bank Open Golf Championship tees off at the Achimota Golf Course in Accra on Saturday, August 26. Mr Emmanuel Kwasi Oteng-Aboagye, General Manager of the Achimota Golf Club who announced this in Accra on Monday.

He said the One-day 18-Hole Stable-ford event is open to amateur golfers from Achimot, Tema, Celebrity and Bok Nam Kim Golf Clubs and is expected to attract more than 100 participants.

Mr Oteng-Aboagye said the entry requirement for the competition, which shall be played under the rules of the World's Golf Governing Body and the local rules of the Achimota Golf Club, is Handicap 24 for the Men while the Ladies is pegged at Handicap 27.

Among an array of golfers who had registered for the competition, which has very attractive prizes at stake are Michael Aggrey, Kwame Saarah-Mensah, Captain of the Achimota Golf Club, John Sam, Yaw Assah-Sam, Mike Ezan and Professor Michael Ben-George. The Ladies category would witness a stiff opposition from Mona Captan of Achimota Golf Club as she battles with Florence Etwi-Barimah, Adelaide Owusu Adjapong and Grace Afriyie all of the Tema Country Golf Club.

Mr Frank Adu Junior, Managing Director of the Bank would be the Special Guest of Honour. 21 Aug. 06
