AshantiGold coach Charles Akunnor could face disciplinary action after he attempted a physical assault on referee Charles Bulu during his side’s 2-1 defeat at Medeama on Saturday.

The former Black Stars captain was left livid after the referee awarded an injury time penalty to the Mauve and Yellows.

Akunnor removed his jacket and jumped onto the pitch after the final whistle and attempted to attack the match official in sensational fashion at the Tarkwa and Aboso Park.

The shocking action of the Ashantigold gaffer exposed his lack of emotional stability - receiving a widespread condemnation from supporters.
