Dreams Football Club started their premier league season on dream start after beating Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday in their first-ever league match, and head coach of the club, Charles K. Akunnor is impressed with what he saw.
The Kwaiman-based club shocked the faithfuls of Ebusua Dwarfs and neutral spectators at the Robert Mensah stadium to witness the match day One fixture of the season.
Johnson Owusu strike dwarfed the Cape Coast-based club much to the surprise of many and CK Akunnor was excited he led the team to make history, but he was quick to point out that, the team must grow in maturity.
“We are happy with the result,” the former Black Stars captain said after the game.
“We played very well in the first half, we dominated and had chances to score but unfortunately, we couldn’t score. We are impressed with the first half, but the second half was not good and we need to improve.
“We are a new team and we are learning and we will grow with time.”
On whether Dreams FC merited the win, Akunnor said: “We played very well and we deserved to win. Movement without the ball coupled with our abilities, we created chances and could have even scored more. The inexperience is there and we understood that.” He said
