Ghanaian super bantamweight boxer Isaac Dogboe believes his victory against Argentine boxer Javier Chacon on Saturday night was an act of divinity but not merely down to his boxing prowess.

The 22-year old boxer extended his impressive stats to 17 undefeated fights and 11 knockouts after his Argentine counterpart failed to respond to the referees call for the continuation of the fight in round 7 and Dogboe is of the view that God is the reason behind his victory.

Speaking to pressmen after the bout, Dogboe paid tribute his father; Paul Dogbe, Ex-President Rawlings and boxing legend Azumah Nelson and also commended his opponent for giving him a good run for his money.

Dogbe mentioned that his victory would not have been possible had it not been God and also the support of Ghanaians thus dedicated the victory to God and all Ghanaians.

“I want to thank everyone who came here to support me. Chacon is a very intriguing boxer with great movement but I kept my focus. There were moments where I felt I could knock him out but I had to be cautious. I have to thank him for coming down here to fight me but God was on my side. Everything that I have achieved is because of God and I dedicated this victory to him”, the visibly excited Dogboe said.

Dogboe by virtue of this victory has taken a step closer to a world a title bout.
