Champs League: Owusu’s last-gasp saves Chelsea

Berekum Chelsea were nearly dealt a heavy blow in the Caf Champions League on Sunday after conceding first against Al Ahly Benghazi at home.

The Ghanaians managed to hold their north African counterparts in the first half after a close contest but were unable to press on further after the break.

Solomon Jabason broke the deadlock with a header that beat Berekum Chelsea goalkeeper Iddrisu Ibrahim in the second half.

The Blues had to sweat on until all seem over to revive their hopes in the elite inter-club competition of the continent.

Obed Owusu equalised in the 95th minute to save their blushes.

The Libyans will be hosting the west Africans in the return leg in a better position to progress with Chelsea having to exhibit a great deal of hard work to sail through.
