Change GPL Mitre balls - Dreams captain

The captain of Dreams FC Abdul Bashiru has joined other players in criticising the quality of the Mitre balls used in the Ghana Premier League.

Bashiru has therefore made a passionate appeal to officials of the premier league board to change the balls before the second round kick starts on June 26.

In recent times, Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda also jumped to the defence of Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Soulama Abdoulaye’s howler against Asante Kotoko on the supposed poor quality of the Mitre ball being the cause of their defeat.

Former Hearts and Kotoko coach David Duncan has also raised questions about the leather.

“My main issue right now is the leather that we are playing or using in this season's league - the Mitre ball is a problem for us.

"I am pleading if authorities can do something about it because is not only me who is complaining, it is too heavy,” he told Starr FM Sports.

“We really need to change the Mitre balls,” he added.
