Chelsea Build Stadium

RUNAWAY LEAGUE leaders Berekum Chelsea have reached another milestone in their existence in Ghana soccer, as management of the high flying team last week cut the sod for work to begin on the construction of a stadium.

A colourful ceremony for the construction of the edifice was held at the project site at Benkasa in Berekum on Friday.

The stadium would boast of a VIP stand, dressing rooms and tartan tracks and the first phase is expected to be complete in 2012.

Barring any last minute dip in form, Chelsea would emerge winners of this year's league which they are now comfortably leading.

Berekum Chelsea have also started a football academy and it was unveiled last Friday.

The project is part of management's vision of unearthing new talents to beef up the squad in future.
