Chelsea and Senegal striker Nicolas Jackson has questioned the Confederation of African Football (CAF) over his omission from the final list of nominees for the 2024 African Footballer of the Year Award.

Nicolas Jackson, Mohamed Salah, and Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus were some of the notable omissions from the 10-man list unveiled by CAF on Thursday, October 24, 2024.

Jackson took to his social media handles to issue a response to the development, quizzing, “What happened @CAFOnline?”

In his debut season in English football, the 23-year-old striker scored 17 goals in 44 appearances for the Blues at Stamford Bridge.

Another notable absentee from the list is Ghana and West Ham forward Mohammed Kudus.

Kudus excelled at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, scoring two goals against Egypt and earning the Man of the Match accolade twice.

Kudus also enjoyed a great debut season at West Ham, hitting thirteen goals in the Europa League and Premier League.

The final ten nominees include Edmond Tapsoba, Amine Gouiri, Chancel Mbemba, Simon Adingra, Achraf Hakimi, Soufiane Rahimi, Ademola Lookman, William Troost-Ekong, and Ronwen Williams.
