League champions Berekum Chelsea are eyeing a sweep of honours in the Glo G8 tournament as the countdown to GHALCA’s new competition nears its climax.
Chelsea failed to add the FA Cup trophy to their maiden Premier League title as they did promise their fans, second tier side Nania FC destroying such dreams with a penalty shoot-out victory in the semis. But Nii Akrofi Smart Abbey, Team Manager of Chelsea has brushed aside the threat of Nania and indeed all six other sides billed to compete for the Glo G8 trophy when it kick starts next weekend.
“We faced the challenge of 15 others in the league and beat them, so this one of seven opponents, we will deal with them by the grace of God. True, we underrated Nania in the (FA Cup) semi finals and they won on penalties but if we meet them again this time we are going to teach them real soccer lesson.
“We are assuring our fans that by the grace of God the trophy will be ours,” Mr. Smart Abbey has promised.
The fear of God is one that is constant throughout interactions with anyone from within the Chelsea fraternity. Nii Smart Abbey says the almighty Lord is the foundation on which the league champions are built.
“We believe in the almighty, when he says you will die, you will. When he says if you are going home you will see a bag full of money on the way, you will.
“If he says no, you will pass by it and you will still not see it. So we believe in God that what he says will come to pass,” Smart Nii Akrofi Abbey reiterated.
