Frosinone’s Ghanaian midfielder, Raman Chibsah, made another strong case for a call up into Ghana’s senior national team with one of the goals for his team against SPAL in the Italian Serie A, Sunday afternoon, to record the side’s first win of the 2018/19 campaign.
The midfield power house, likened to the legendary Michael Essien for his dynamism, powerfully headed home from a corner the opening goal for his side against the run of play on the 40th minute mark, to give them a much-needed lead going into the halftime break.
Frosinone, continued where they left off in the second half, soaking up pressure and hitting their opponents on the break leading to an assist from Joel Campbell early in the second half that produced a good finish from Camillo Ciano on the 53rd minute to extend the Frosinone lead.
Nineteen-year-old Andrea Pinamonti then sealed the win for his side on 89minutes, making it 3-0 and sending the away support base into a state of ecstasy.
But for the umpteenth time this season, it was Raman Chibsah who exhibited why he should be considered for a Black Stars call up, offering great drive, energy, incisiveness, and some of the enthusiasm that were missing from the midfield play of the Black Stars in the recent AFCON 2019 Qualifier against the Harambee Stars of Kenya.
The win, moves Frosinone to just 4 points away from safety, with a trip to 12th placed Parma Calcio next on the agenda.
