Christian Atsu confirms he is back at club on Instagram

Everton have recently improved on their poor form in the Premier League but, unfortunately, in midweek, it counted for nothing after a 1-0 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

One player who would have taken that game in with interest was Christian Atsu. The Ghanaian is of course on loan at Everton from Chelsea, so could not have featured in the game, but was unavailable anyway.

The winger was still out of action after only recently returning from international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations with The Black Stars.

But now he is back in training with the Everton team. He posted this picture on his Instagram page earlier today having breakfast with his team-mates at the club’s Finch Farm training facilities.

I'm back! Great to catch up with these guys. #EFC #Breakfast

Atsu arrived at Everton on the back of a great World Cup with Ghana and an excellent season on loan at Vitesse Arnhem, so hopes were high for the talented attacker. But he struggled to have an impact in his early Everton career and not many an Evertonian would have been upset to see him leave for a month.

That being said, after a woeful first game, Atsu went on to become one of Ghana’s star performers and even scored a world-class goal in Equatorial Guinea, as Ghana reached the final.

Everton fans will be hoping that he can carry that form into the rest of his loan spell at the club.
