Ghana winger Christian Atsu has earned the praises of Manchester United caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after his impressive performance for Newcastle United against the Red Devils in midweek.
The 26-year-old was menacing for the United defence and came close with two goal-scoring opportunities but wasted the chances.
Despite his wastefulness in front of goal, Atsu was the Magpies best player on the day.
Solskjear praised the resilience of Newcastle United but was particularly impressed with the form of the Ghanaian.
"To come here against a club like this with the fans they've got - I was really happy. We kept them at bay then we made some mistakes, the crowd got drawn in and it's always difficult."
He added: "Atsu got in a few times and their fans really got into the game. It's a good win when you come to a place like this."
Atsu is expected to play a key role on Sunday when Newcastle United welcome Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup.
