Christopher Opoku to be named GHALCA boss

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) is set to name ace sports journalist Christopher Opoku as its new boss.

The seasoned Journalist will serve in the capacity of Administrative Manager for Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA).

Christopher Opoku is a seasoned sports journalist who has had stints with Luv FM in Kumasi, Asempa FM in Accra before heading the Metro TV Sports department all for several years.

Renowned for his professionalism and social ethics Mr. Opoku has established himself as one of the best if not the best football commentator in the country.

His establishment of the soccer website footy-ghana.com is a major source for football information in the country not only covering the National teams but also covering women and youth football too.

His frank and unadulterated style has won him many laurels but has also increased his enemies as well. Nevertheless Christopher Opoku remains unperturbed.

He is also remembered for a public bust-up with the then Kumasi Asante Kotoko Boss Dr KK Sarpong when he declared that Metro TV would never cover matches involving them.

His new role as the Administrative Manager will see him take on the big wigs in Ghana football as he aims to make the Ghana League Clubs association regain their voice by becoming more relevant; a challenge that Opoku seems to relish.
