Ghanaian international boxer Joshua Clottey, believes, he has what it takes to stop Floyd Mayweather when they come face to face in the ring.
The former IBF Welterweight champion who has lost four times in his career, consider he is better than the undefeated Mayweather, whom he feels has been over hyped.
“Both of us can block well, but the deficiency Mayweather has is that he cannot throw more punches. A bout between us will be very tight, but at the end, I will be victorious,” said Clottey in an interview.
He also thinks the speed of Pacquiao will be an advantage to him when he faces Mayweather. “Mayweather is very slow, but Pacquiao can throw more punches and he is fast at the same time, so a bout between then will be in favour of the Filipino,“ he said.
Clottey is scheduled to fight in March of this year but he has refused to name the opponent, to avoid any breach of contract.
“I will fight in March this year in Australia, but I can’t make my opponent public, because the announcement ought to come from the organizers and failure to comply will lead to a breach of contract,” said the former IBF Welterweight champion.
He has won two and lost two in his last four bouts, including the loss to Manny Pacquaio in 2010.
