Clottey earns Alhaji Gruzah praise

Renowned football administrator Alhaji Karim Gruzah claims he is puzzled by the striking prowess of Berekum Chelsea hitman Emmanuel Clottey.

Clottey hogged the headlines on Sunday when he scored two goals in the club's 2-2 draw with TP Mazembe in Lubumbashi.

He is the competition's top scorer with 11 goals from five matches; two away from equalling Stephen Worgu's 13 goals in the 2007 campaign.

Gruzah, who owns second-tier side King Faisal Football Club, told Sunyani-based Storm FM:

"Ghana is not well known for producing strikers but he (Clottey) is from another place.

"I watched him several times in the league and I see he is very good but in the Champions League he is doing very strange things and his second goal yesterday was fantastic.

"For now, he is the best striker in Africa and no one can deny that because he is doing it everywhere."

The 24-year-old has targeted to score 18 goals in this year’s competition.
