Club Brugge want to offload Salou

Belgian club Club Brugge are ready to offload Ghanaian Ibrahim Salou after the striker failed to cement a first-team place.

Romania club Rapid Bucharest have opened talks with Brugges over the possibility of signing the Ghana-born in January.

The 28-year-old, who turned down several calls to play for the Black Stars, joined the club last season for US$2.2m after impressing at rival side Zulte Warengem.

But he has failed to replicate his form at Warengem in his stay with Brugge, prompting the league leaders to listen to the offer from Romania.

Even though Brugge are ready to accept a good offer from the Bucharest club, Salou must agree terms before a move is sealed.

"The two have agreed to talk over a proposed move for Salou to join Rapid Bucharest," Salou's agent Jean-Claude Laguaisse said.

"Salou has to look at the offer and if he is interested then both clubs can have further talks."

The striker turned down an offer from Ghana coach Claude Le Roy as he was waiting to play for Belgium but the European country ignored him.

Le Roy has vowed not to invite him to play for Black Stars for persistently turning down calls to the national team.
