The Spokesperson of the Ghana Football Association, Ibrahim Saani Daara has blamed clubs in Ghana as the major cause of the low patronage of the league.
According to Saani, the responsibility on who should promote the league falls squarely on the shoulders of the clubs themselves and not the Ghana Football Association as some have suggested.
“The promotion of the league is the duty of the clubs. It is the clubs that own players and coaches and it is their responsibility to provide talking points for the media to feed on. That is what is done everywhere in the world. It is not magic.”
The Ghana premier league has suffered from low patronage over the years and many have often accused the Ghana Football Association of doing little to help the domestic league grow.
But this new twist offered by Saani Daara means clubs must do more to help promote the league.
