Coach Afranie Fired!

After initially denying sacking Black Satellites head coach, E.K. Afranie, the management board of the Ghana Football Association has now finally announced that it has relieved the ace Coach off his duties as the coach of the national under-20 team, the Black Satellites. The FA management board has replaced Coach Afranie with, Kwaebibirem United’s former coach, John Eshun. He will be assisted by Malik Jabir, Former Kotoko and Burkina Faso national coach.
Former Hearts of Oak and Africa Stars Coach Alhaji Maikano would now be responsible for the teams Welfare. They would also be responsible for the under-23 team, Black Meteors.
The new changes confirm earlier statements communicated by the Ben Koufie Administration, which the FA Chairman described as official communications leaked to the media.
Coach Afranie is now to take charge of Coaching duties in the Northern Sector, while Black Stars coach; Osam Duodo takes charge of the Southern Sector. FA boss, Ben Koufie, now heads the FA’s National Technical Directorate.
The Black Stars technical team was not affected by the new changes, which Ben Koufie believes would cover his five-year development plan for Ghana football. Coach Osam Duodo and his assistant, Oti Akenteng remain at post.
The technical set up for the national under-17 team the Black Starlets, has also been changed with former Obuasi Goldfields assistant coach, Isaac Paha coaching the team with Sulley Mohammed assisting him.
Former national goalkeeper, Alhaji Duodo Ankrah has been designated the trainer of goalkeeper’s for the Black Starlets.
The Reverend Osei Kofi has also been designated head coach of the National Women’s team, Black Queens with Sam Amarteifio as his assistant. The new changes show clearly the infusion of old players in the handling of the national teams.
