Hearts of Oak coach, David Duncan says avoiding defeats away from home should be his battling side’s game plan to revival after beginning the second half of the season on a winning note.

Ivorian import, Robin Gnagne’s expertly converted spot kick proved the difference as Hearts beat King Faisal 1-0 to claim just a 4th win all season.

The result nevertheless still left the former all-conquering league champions in the relegation zone, albeit on inferior goals difference to three other teams. But Coach Duncan has the perfect strategy to ensure Hearts move up the league ladder soon.

“We’ll be depending on winning our games especially home games, this is our fortress. We’ll then work on avoiding losses away which seems to be the trend on the Ghanaian scene where teams playing at home do everything to win,” Coach Duncan said.

He continued: “But we’ll be doing everything to get some wins away and some draws. That’s what I call stabilization the situation. “You can’t have perfection, James Bissue was best player and consistent goal scorer in all our preparation for the second round but he had a bad day of all our players against King Faisal.”

The former Ashgold helmsman has also come in for praise from Hearts returnee, Esme Mends.

“Coach Duncan is the perfect coach to take us through. He treats us like true professionals and we are learning a lot. He is like a father and a manager,” Mends said.
