Elmina Sharks coach, Yaw Acheampong has expressed his delight with his team performance after beating Hearts of oak 1-0 in a trial match at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday.

Benjamin Tweneboah’s last-minute goal made the huge difference as Elmina Sharks continued their preparation for the start of the league.

Speaking to the media in a post-match interview, Coach Acheampong expressed his happiness with how his players are adapting to the new system of play he’s introduced at the club.

“We bought a new system to the team this season and it is working very well. Our players did well. Hearts of Oak also brought different team compared to the team they used during G-8. I’m happy with the performance of my boys”.

Yaw Acheampong also talked about the importance of winning Sunday’s friendly as well as the need to be careful regarding the number of friendly matches they are playing.

“The win will raise the confidence of the team and their motivation level will rise. At the same time, the delay to the start of the league is disturbing, because we’ve to be careful with the games we play.

“If you don’t take time, it will get to the time of the league and fatigue will start to set in. And your team will start going down. Though they did very well, we’ve to be careful with the type of the training and matches we give to the boys”.
