Tema, Sept. 6, GNA - Vincent Coffie returned a net score of 139 to win this year's Tigo Tema Open Golf Championship which ended at the Tema Country Golf course on Sunday.
He was followed by Richard Mawuli with 148 net, Ernest Opoku took the third position with 152 net while I .C. Agbavon placed fourth with 153 net with the fifth position going to Joseph Klah with 155 net. Mona Myles-Lamptey won the Ladies event with 163 net with Grace Afriyie placong second with 168 net while Vivienne Kuame placed third with 173 net and Charity Agyeiwaah taking the fourth position with 176 net.
In the Professional's category, Victor Brave-Mensah came first with 277 gross, Kojo Banni placed second with 282 gross, Vincent Torgah took the third position with 288 gross while Emos Korblah placed fourth with 290 gross.
Yaw Degbe and Sampson Asorgba took the first and the second positions in the Youth segment with a net score of 156 and 161 respectively.
The two-day 36 Hole Scratch event, which was open to amateur and professional golfers, was sponsored by Milicom Ghana Limited. Mr Leonard Kweku Okyere, Captain of the Tema Country Golf Club commended the company for sponsoring the competition for the past seven years.
He appealed to other corporate bodies to help in the development and promotion of the sport in the country.
Mr Bismark Odoom, Outdoors Manager of Milicom Ghana Limited, gave the assurance that the company would continue to support the development of the sport to an international standard. 06 Sept. 09
