Rev. Osei Kofi, a member of the 1965 Black Stars, has said, colts and juvenile football are the foundations of the development of Ghana football, hence must be given the needed attention.
He said, the brand of Ghana Football was declining because the country was not giving enough attention to Colts football.
Speaking to GNA Sports after a press conference by the concerned members of the Juvenile, Amateur and Grassroots Football, Rev. Kofi said, he was hoping that the foundation of Ghana football would rise again, if the foundation was given adequate resources to function.
He said, Ghana is a gifted footballing country and the footballers in the country needed to be polished to realise their dreams.
He added that, coaches are playing a key role in the development of football in the country, and it was time, they were given proper training to develop the youth.
The 1965 AFCON third highest scorer said, the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) was still supporting grassroots football in the country and there was the need to make good use of that opportunity.
“FIFA has not stopped bringing money for the juvenile football so we as a country should not stop developing the grassroots football,” he said.
