Commey finally lands a world tittle bout

Ghana Ghana

Ghana’s Boxing sensation Richard Commey (24-0, 22 KO’s) will face Robert Easter Jr. (17-0, 14 KO’s) for the vacant IBF lightweight title to be held in Accra, Ghana

According to the management of Commey, Rances Barthelemy, who defended his IBF lightweight belt against Micky Bey last Friday in Florida via unanimous decision, has vacated the title, which automatically put Commey in pull position for the title which he has been yearning for a very long period

The bout will be a difficult one for the young Ghanaian prospect who have his hands full against the, 25-year-old ohio native. Easter in April flattened a formidable former 130lb. champion Algenis Mendez with a devastating right in the fifth to put on center stage in the world of boxing.

This comes as a good news to the boxing fraternity as Ghana is still waiting for world champions with the last one being Joshua Clottey in recent times.
