Accra, April 16, GNA - A Five Member Committee has been formed by the Congress of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to review the rules and regulations of the association to reflect modern trend of football in the country.
The formation of the committee was based on the proposal made by Mr Justice Alexander Kwabena Baah Ampiah, President of Congress in his inaugural speech on Thursday at the Annual Congress of the association. The formation of the committee was necessitated by the many cases of litigation that had saddled the GFA, thus causing delays to holding of the Congress as well as disrupting the calendar of the association.
The committee members include Mr Kwasi Nyantakyie, Mr Matiu Narh Doe, Mr Kwame Ntow Fiako, Mr Kwesi Owuahene Acheampong and Mr Douglas Djarbeng.
The Committee is to examine the rules and regulations of the association and make recommendations on sections that might require possible amendments.
Other issues to be tackled by the Committee are player registration, transfers, court actions, binding effects of disciplinary bodies and the relationship between the various bodies within the association.
According to the Congress, the Committee is expected to submit its report at the next emergency Congress by July 15.
