The Nigeria Football Federation has approved Confluence Beach Soccer Club of Kogi State to represent the country at this year's Keta Beach Soccer Cup in Ghana.
The four-day international beach soccer tournament event will feature six selected club sides from five countries along with hosts, Ghana.
The event is scheduled to be held from March 24 to 28 at the Aboringines Beach Resort in Keta, Ghana.
Kogi will fly the flag of Nigeria in Ghana as reigning champions of Central Bank National Beach Soccer tournament held in Abuja.
They defeated FCT 9-2 in the 2013 finals to emerge winners of the eight-team tournament.
It was learnt that, at least, five states including Rivers, were bidding to represent the country at the event if Kogi State fails to accept it.
Adamu Audu, fondly called Ejor, who handles Nigeria's Supersand Eagles team is expected to lead the Kogi State side to the Beach Soccer championship.
