Top rated football agent Oliver Arthur is predicting that the upcoming football transfer window could provide a breakthrough opportunity for Africa players.

As a result of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on finances of Europe’s top clubs, expectations are that club’s could look outside the European market for very good yet cheaper players.

Africa has been tipped to be a destination for football clubs and agents who will be hunting for players for their clients.

In an interview with ghanaweb.com on the Sports Check programme, Oliver Arthur anticipated a great opportunity for Africa players and clubs in the window.

According to him, talents abound in this part of the world and due to the lower valuation, the market could be Africa’s.

He therefore urged teams and players agents from this part of the world to position themselves well for the opportunity the market is likely to present.

“A lot of clubs might be even filing for bankruptcy and those who don’t file and try to survive the market will look at players they can get as free agent, players they can at lower prices and coming to Africa”.

“If we position ourselves, it can be a breakthrough for us that we can sell a lot of players because our market value is low. Our price tags are low when we are doing the first move and the quality is there so clubs in this situation might look at Africa”, he said.

Oliver Arthur also opined that despite the impact of the virus on their finances, some of the major clubs could still go ahead and get the players they penned down prior to the outbreak of the virus.

He expects some big money movements in the transfer and is hopeful Thomas Partey could be one of them.
