According to the inspector general of the Ministry of Health (Minsa), Miguel de Oliveira, who released this information today (Friday), the screened are colleagues of the patient in a Chinese shipyard.
Speaking at a press conference, he explained that at the shipyard there are at least two thousand employees, but only the number above was necessary for this assessment.
"During the last two days we have been approaching all citizens who kept in touch with the inpatient, doing the proper screening and evaluation, but, fortunately, up to the present moment there has been no sign in the people involved," he said.
The incubation period of the disease ranges from two to 14 days, but even at this time, the virus can be transmitted.
For that reason, Manuel de Oliveira said that the Ministry of Health will continue the field work, called "active search".
As for the clinical condition of the suspected patient admitted to the Girassol clinic, he said that in the last 24 hours the results have remained satisfactory and he remains calm, aware, collaborative and without fever.
There was no hepatic and renal alteration in his condition, with a clearly positive evolution.
