Dr Prince Pambo, a member of the CAF Medical team is advocating for the abrogation of the 2019-20 Ghana Premier League season which has been disrupted by the Coronavirus pandemic.
The top-flight is in the fourth week of a forced break following a government ban on all public gatherings including sporting events as part of measures to curb the spread of the disease.
The pandemic, also known as COVID-19, has so far infected 566 people and claimed 8 lives in Ghana.
According to him, it would be prudent for the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to cancel the season and start planning for a new one.
“We thinking the league will return anytime soon is not an issue we should even entertain because after COVID-19 the sort of psychological interventions you need to wake these players up, the length of pre-season you need to give them all that, I mean 2020 we should just let it go and plan for next season," he said.
The league was suspended last month with Aduana Stars top of the standings after 15 matches.
