Chairman of Parliamentary Select Committee on Sports, Youth and Culture, Alex Agyekum has called on Black Stars players particularly those who ply their trade abroad to join the fight against coronavirus by helping the government through any form of support they can give.

According to him, it is about time Ghanaian players playing abroad contribute to assist government in the fight against the deadly coronavirus disease that has wrecked the world.

He encouraged the players to mobilize themselves and raise some amount of money to cushion the government.

“The players must donate to the Convid-19 fund introduced by the government. We know some of them have done their best but I think the national team must rise to the occasion”

“We are waiting for them, maybe they are preparing themselves for the better. They should try and come on board. Captains of the various national teams must mobilize them because this is the time to show the government some love”

“The foreign based players should try and do something because this is the time we need them” he told Peace FM in an interview.
