Cosmos Buffaloes are leaving no stone unturned in their determination to emerge winners of this year’s Rugby 7s League by winning both of their matches last Saturday.
Buffaloes had previously also won their two games back on Match Day 1, returned strongly to see off the competition of Ketu Lions and Accra Sharks in authoritative fashion to take a commanding lead in the series.
Led by fly half Hamza Diaba Suleyman, Cosmos Baffaloes who also won the Rugby 7s gala at the end of last year, outclassed Ketu Lions 32-0 in their opening game before beating Accra Sharks 31-7 to complete an outstanding day. It means that Baffaloes now amass 14 points from four games and also boast a total of 85 tries thus far.
Hamza, nicknamed Rugby General, scored two tries and topped it up with two conversions on the day to push Cosmos Buffaloes unto victory. Afterwards, he reiterated his side’s determination to keep on winning as they seek to win the ultimate.
“Winning the league is the dream, that’s what we are thinking of doing. I think our training has paid off through this tournament so far and we are looking forward to improving more,” Hamza told www.sportsinghana.com at the Athletics Oval of the University of Ghana in Legon.
Following on the heels of Cosmos Buffaloes are Legon Titans who beat Idas Sports Rugby Club 10-0 before also dispatching off Ketu Lions 14-0 in their two games last Saturday. Titans now sit second on the 8-team log on 10 points off a total of 51 tries.
