Sports broadcaster, Patrick Osei Agyemang, affectionately known as Countryman Songo has descended on Ghana's Men's relay team following a disappointing performance at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Songo expressed his disappointment in the relay team for attributing their subpar output to noise at the stadium.

Speaking on his sports show on Adom TV, Songo labelled Team Ghana's excuse as silly while apportioning some blame to the Sports Ministry.

"Our 4x100 competed and after the race, they said 'Noise in the stadium affected us.' What kind of silly statement is that? When you are racing, it's your eye you use to notice that you are at the finishing point, or? So where from this silly statement? You don't have exposure. Stop talking and come home because we know you finished last. We have to fire the incompetent Sports Minister and the horrible sporting associations that we have," he said.

Team Ghana was disqualified from the Men's 4x100m relay event at the 2024 Olympic Games after a late baton changeover.

The disqualification was a result of a delayed third and final changeover from the third leg to the anchor leg.

China emerged as the winner of the heats, clocking 38.24s. France came second with 38.34s, while Canada took the third spot with 38.39s.

In the final, Canada won the gold, South Africa picked up the silver while Great Britain secured the bronze medal.
