Hearts of Oak coach, Aboubakar Ouattara, has implored the fans not to denigrate the players in an attempt to criticise them.

He noted that although his squad is open to criticism, fans' sentiments have to be constructive.

He acknowledged that the supporters are the owners of the club and thus accept the fans' anger following a poor run of games in the Ghana Premier League.

"We are working for them (supporters). I understand when they criticise us. You can criticise us and say anything you like, but please do not insult us," he said after their win over Bechem United.

Ouattara called for unity in the team, which he believes is the only element to lift the team to the next level.

"What we need is unity. We need to stay together, and if that happens, I think we can achieve a lot," he added.

Hearts of Oak returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over Bechem United on Sunday, September 22, 2024. The win was their first of the season after losing two games in a row.

They will look to extend their run when they face Nations FC in match week four on Saturday, September 28.
