'Cronyism is the problem of Nyantakyi’s FA'

The former Berekum Chelsea and Aduana Stars boss has stated that Kwesi Nyantakyi can only make big impact as the President of the Ghana Football Association if he gets rid of his friends and cronies whose knowledge about football is below par like Winfried Osei Palmer and MNS Doe.

Kwesi Nyantakyi secured a re-election as the President of GFA on a third term running in Tamale on Tuesday.

Despite having chalked numerous successes in barely 10-year tenure, he has several critics due to the dwindling fortunes of the Ghana Premier League and perceived over concentration on the Black Stars to the neglect of the other national teams.

Tachie Arhin one of his vigorous critics has indicated that Kwesi Nyantakyi is a good man, but people whom he runs the Ghana FA with have limited ideas about football and things will not change if such people continue to be around him.

“Kwesi Nyantakyi is a good man, but the problem with his administration is that he is surrounded by friends and cronies who know nothing about football,” he told Metro fm.

“People like Osei Palmer and MNS Doe are people who add nothing good to his administration.

“It is because of Osei Palmer, the U-17 team of Ghana were suspended for age cheating and because his knowledge about football is limited he doesn’t know that when a player joins a club from a foreign league he needs an ITC and that was the reason why he used Emmanuel Clottey which resulted in the deduction of 12 points from Tema Youth’s accumulated points”.

Osei Palmer and MNS Doe are both members of the GFA Executive Committee, which is the highest decision making body of the association.
