Ghana’s Cycling team would leave Accra on Wednesday for Cote D’Ivoire to participate in the 29th edition of the “La route de lest” scheduled for Friday, July 14.
Ghana would be represented by six cyclists in the competition, alongside 70 other cyclists from seven West Africa Countries.
The competition, organised by the Ivorian Cycling Federation, is aimed at promoting cycling in Ivory Coast and also to enhance competition among West Africa riders. It is also to help unite the rebels and the army after the war in that country.
The “la route de lest” is also a platform for cyclists to prepare for other international competitions.
The Ghanaian cyclists would be accompanied by three officials and two media persons.
